Lockers

All students in grades 4-8 are assigned a locker; students in grades 5-8 are also assigned a locker, lock and will sign a Locker Agreement. These lockers are for the convenience of the students, but they remain the property of the Board of Education. School officials reserve the right to inspect the contents of any locker at any time. Students may not share lockers nor should they leave any valuable items (school or personal) in an unlocked locker. Avon School is not responsible for items lost or taken from lockers. All displays in lockers must be hung with magnets.
  1. Students in Grades 5-8 are assigned lockers with combination locks at the beginning of the school year. They should utilize their locker to secure personal items (i.e., cell phones, textbooks, school supplies) and/or other valuables

  2. Students are responsible for memorizing their combinations and for keeping them private.

  3. Student lockers are the property of the school and may be inspected at any time for health and safety reasons. Student access to another student’s locker or lock is forbidden

  4. Students are expected to keep their lockers clean and to remove any food items from the locker each day

  5. Students may not “stick” or attach anything to the exterior of their lockers in any way – interiors may be magnets only

  6. Students will have access to their lockers in the morning, at lunch time and after school or as instructed by their teachers

  7. At the end of the school year, or as directed by a teacher, students should completely clean out their lockers and leave them open with the lock locked

  8. Any lost/not returned locks will be assessed a $10.00 fine
